NO QUESTION IS TOO SMALL. DON’T SEE YOUR QUESTION? NO PROBLEM! SHOOT ME A MESSAGE AND I'LL JUMP IN TO HELP.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE?
My style is journalistic, raw, and genuine. I’m here to help tell your story. Of course I’ll be there to take the more “posey” shots of your family and the important moments like your first kiss but I’m all about the quiet, more intimate moments that you celebrate with your family and friends.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO IN ORDER TO BOOK YOU FOR OUR WEDDING?
A contract must be signed along with a $1000 non-refundable retainer. The contract includes what is expected of both parties and what is included in your collection.
DO WE GET ALL OF THE PHOTOS?
Yes! Well, almost. You get all of the images that make you look good. Believe me, I don't gain anything by keeping beautiful images from you. If an image wasn't included in the final gallery, there was a reason. Your contract will state the approximate amount of images you will receive.
DO YOU EDIT YOUR IMAGES?
Yes! Every last image you receive from me will be carefully and creatively edited in Lightroom and Photoshop. Please be wary of “shoot and burn” photographers (photographers that show up and hand you the images without any post-production!) I spend more time editing your images than I spend physically at your wedding. Post production is what makes my style unique. You will receive your edited, high resolution jpg files via a beautiful online gallery.
CAN I EDIT THE IMAGES MYSELF?
When you're paying for my services, you're paying for the final edited images, much like the cake you're having made for your wedding. Asking for pictures that weren't edited or in the final delivery would be like asking for the egg shells from your cake. It's the finished product that makes it my work. Hours and hours go into perfecting each image to jive with the style of my brand and the reason you hired me. Applying Instagram filters or desaturating everything but the colors of your shoes takes away from the finished product. When someone sees the altered image, they aren't seeing work that represents my vision. It is important that the images I create for you remain authentic.
DO YOU OFFER A SECOND SHOOTER WITH THE WEDDING COLLECTION?
A second photographer can be added to any wedding collection. I am more than comfortable photographing any size wedding on my own however I do recommend a second photographer for simultaneous coverage of both the bride and groom preparing for the day before the ceremony and both the cocktail hour and portraits of the couple and their families.
WHAT KIND OF EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
Primary Camera: Canon 5D Mark iii
Backup Camera: Canon Rebel XS
Fun Cameras: Instax 210 and Polaroid Film: Canon AE-1 50mm f/1.8 Lenses: Canon 50 mm f/1.2 | Canon 35mm f/1.2 | Tamron 28-85mm f/2.8 Flash: Canon Speedlite 600EX Post Production: Apple 27" iMac with retna 5k display | Apple 15” Macbook Pro for travel | Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop + Lightroom)
HOW DO YOU DRESS FOR WEDDINGS?
I like to blend in as much as possible so I usually dress nicely, as if I were a guest, but comfortable enough so that I can photograph you and your guests without worrying about accidentally flashing anyone! As you’ve probably noticed from my website, I’m not your average photographer so I stay away from the traditional black on black in order to preserve my brand.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR US TO RECEIVE OUR IMAGES?
It depends on the season, but it usually takes anywhere from 6-8 weeks for you to receive your online gallery of edited, high resolution images. I usually post a “sneak peek” on my Facebook Business page within 24 hours so make sure we’re Facebook friends so that I can tag you! You can friend me here.
DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH DESTINATION WEDDINGS AND ELOPEMENTS?
Yes. I spend a majority of the year photographing weddings all over the country. Please check out my travel schedule for upcoming trips! I offer discounts to all of my destination wedding couples. And if it’s a place I’ve never been or I’ve been dying to travel to, you bet I will do everything in my power to make it worth your while to bring me along!
DOES THE PHOTOGRAPHER OWN THE RIGHTS TO THE PHOTOS?
Yes, but this doesn't mean that you can’t print your digital copies or post them to social media! It only means that you cannot sell the photos for profit or use them for personal branding without permission. I am not, however, responsible for lost photographs after I deliver them, so please be sure to back-up your wedding images in at least TWO safe places. We also love photo credit on social media, too! Referrals are our livelihood!
DO YOU SHOOT SAME SEX WEDDINGS?
Abso-freaking-lutely. Myself and my team believe in the celebration of love for all. Simple as that.
