My last destination wedding of 2016 went out with a bang. Melissa + Chris tied the knot in South Florida at Lake Worth's Social House with an incredibly talented team of vendors (including my best friend Jenny, owner + floral designer of Port + Palm Co!) See the end of this post for a full vendor list.
I had three other inquiries for this wedding weekend but when I met Melissa + Chris, I immediately knew that they were the couple I wanted to photograph. They were so genuine in telling their story of how they met, and their vision for their wedding day was rooted in authenticity, their personal style, and family. I knew that their wedding would be special and would bring me inspiration + joy.
And I was right. Not only did photographing their love bring me joy but two new friends, as well. Chris + Melissa's wedding brought together the Lake Worth community as many of their vendors were local businesses that the couple frequents throughout the year. The couple also added their personal touches; Melissa's etsy shop created the hand-pressed invitations while Chris's band Hillside Spirit Revival played during their cocktail hour.
I am happy to be back in Washington DC and to meet and photograph all of our 2017 local couples!
